RoofKit – Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6 October 2026

RoofKit: Roofing Calculator ("the app") is a roofing estimate, quote and invoice tool for iPhone and Android, published by GGSHOP LIMITED ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the app uses, who receives it and what choices you have. GGSHOP LIMITED is responsible for the app; our contact details are at the end of this page.

Summary

  • No account and no sign-up. We have no server for this app and never receive your jobs, customers, prices or files.
  • The free version shows ads from Google AdMob (non-personalized only). Google, not us, collects some device data to show them. RoofKit Pro has no ads.
  • Purchases are handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store; we never see payment details.

Data that stays on your device

Everything you type – roof measurements, materials, saved jobs, customer names and contact details, prices, quotes, invoices, your business details, payment details and logo – is stored in the app's private storage on your device. We never receive this data.

Device backups: like most apps, RoofKit's data can be included in your phone's own backup – Android Backup to your Google account, or an iCloud / computer backup on iPhone – and restored when you set up a new phone or reinstall the app. These backups are stored in your own Google or Apple account under their terms; we cannot access them. You can turn backups off in your phone's settings.

Your data leaves your phone only when you choose to share it – for example when you send a PDF quote or invoice, a backup file or a CSV file with your phone's share menu. Customer details you enter are your own business records; you are responsible for having your customers' permission to store and share them.

How long data is kept

Data in the app stays on your device until you delete it (delete a job, or uninstall the app; copies in your own device backups follow your backup settings). We keep no copy. Data collected by Google for advertising or purchases is kept by Google according to its own policies (see links below).

Free trial

Every Pro feature is free for 14 days. On Android the trial start date is kept in the app on your phone. On iPhone the trial is a free in-app item from the App Store, so Apple keeps the start date with your purchases. No personal data is sent to us.

Purchases

The one-time "RoofKit Pro" purchase is processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store under their terms and privacy policies. We do not receive your name, e-mail or payment details. The app only asks the store whether Pro has been purchased on your store account.

Advertising (free version only)

The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob: an optional short video that you choose to watch before a PDF quote or invoice is created, and, after the free trial, one small banner at the bottom of the Home and Jobs screens. There are no ads in the first 10 days of the trial, and RoofKit Pro has no ads at all.

  • The app requests non-personalized ads only. It does not use the Android advertising ID or the iPhone advertising identifier (IDFA), does not ask to track you, and does not use Android's interest-based ad features.
  • To show, limit the frequency of, measure and protect ads against fraud, Google may collect: your IP address (used for approximate location), device and app information (model, operating system, language), ad interactions and performance/diagnostic data, and an app-scoped identifier (App set ID on Android, identifier for vendor on iPhone).
  • This data is collected and processed by Google as described in Google's policies; Google may process it outside your country, including in the United States.

Your privacy choices

  • EEA, UK and Switzerland: before any ad is requested, the app shows Google's consent form (Google User Messaging Platform). You can change or withdraw your choice at any time in the app: Settings → Privacy choices.
  • United States (including California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah and other states with privacy laws): we do not sell your personal information for money. Where showing ads counts as "selling" or "sharing" under your state's law, you can opt out in the app: Settings → Privacy choices. Google then limits how it uses the data (restricted data processing).
  • Everyone: buying RoofKit Pro removes ads completely, so no ad requests are made.

Legal bases (EEA and UK)

Data on your device is processed by the app only to provide the features you use. Ad-related data is processed by Google on the basis of your consent where required, and of legitimate interests such as preventing fraud and keeping ads secure. Purchase data is processed by Google or Apple to perform the purchase.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, to object to or restrict its use, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your data protection authority. Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete on a server – you can delete your data at any time by deleting jobs in the app or uninstalling it. For data held by Google, use Google's privacy tools (https://myaccount.google.com/data-and-privacy). You can also contact us with any request or question and we will answer within 30 days.

Phone sensors and photos

The pitch gauge reads your phone's motion sensor while it is open; the readings are not stored or sent anywhere. If you choose a logo, only the picture you select is copied into the app. The app does not access your location, contacts, camera or microphone.

Security

Your data is kept in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read. Communication with Google's ad and purchase services is encrypted (HTTPS).

Children

The app is a professional tool for adults and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If the app's data use changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
